(NOTE: this month’s meetup is NOT at D3i - but feel free to come over in the evening for a Sadie Fu and her band Bear Is Driving)
Join us for our June meetup as we swap seeds, seedlings, cuttings, and garden wisdom—and help shape a new TCWC community project.
We’re exploring the idea of creating a regular garden work-party and skill-sharing group where members can gather at one another’s homes to help with small gardening and yard projects, share knowledge, and spend time together.
Imagine:
Learning how to start a vegetable garden from someone who’s done it before
Finally getting that compost pile started
Getting help tackling an overgrown flower bed
Planting pollinator gardens together
Trading plants, seeds, and gardening tricks
Visiting one another’s gardens and learning from real-life experience
Spending time outdoors with women who enjoy getting their hands dirty
You don’t need to have a garden to participate.
Maybe you want gardening experience. Maybe you love plants. Maybe you enjoy helping others. Maybe you just want an excuse to get outside and connect with other women.
Likewise, members who need a little extra help—whether they’re busy, aging, recovering, overwhelmed, or just getting started—can benefit from the collective knowledge and energy of the group.
We’ll be discussing how often we’d like to garden, what these gatherings might look like, and even brainstorming a name for the project. Bring your ideas!
For the swap: consider bringing seeds, seedlings, cuttings, houseplant babies, gardening books, extra tools, or anything else you’d like to swap. No seeds? No problem. Come anyway.
So either bring seeds or bring ideas or bring your weird self +/- friends. Let’s grow something bigger than a garden.
Because many hands make light work—and it’s a lot more fun.
